Today's guest, Steve Worthy, is an awesome human being with expertise in retail leadership, executive coaching, podcasting, and live streaming.
His journey began in 2007 when he was doing blog talk radio, and his original content was about being a husband and an entrepreneur. After a while, his career got in the way, and his co-host ran out of time.
As soon as that podcast ended, Steve started "The Worthy Show," a leadership coaching podcast, but it didn't work the way Steve had expected.
Having sought out professional advice about podcasting, he niched down, which led to the birth of the Retail Leadership Podcast.
Because of the success of that podcast, Steve has now launched Podcasters Live, a new show dedicated to helping people learn to live stream and podcast to grow their businesses.
Steve's journey wasn't smooth; he experimented and learned much along the way. In today's episode, he shares all the golden nuggets he learned from his journey.
He discussed how niching now helped him find the right audience for his content. He explained why consumption rate is more important than download rate. Steve shares his workflow for a one-day podcast production process and his comprehensive engagement strategy for his content.
Furthermore, he discussed editing ethics and how he focuses more on the flow of conversation rather than editing "uhm" sounds. He discussed why he disliked audiograms and used Facebook live streaming and email marketing to promote his podcast.
Tune into this jam-packed episode to learn more about podcasts.

Life Changing Content Creation: The Evolution Of THE Most Successful Madmen Blog To Podcast.

Today's guest, Roberta Lipp, is the cohost and producer of the widely successful "They Coined It, A Mad Men" podcast. Roberta has always been passionate about creating content and talking about the things she loves. After dropping so many ideas, she began writing the blog on the famous American television show Mad Men; it became a widely successful blog about the show at that time.
Her journey doesn't end there. After a successful blog, she evolved it into a podcast, which has become equally successful. They spoke to the actors and creators of the show. They had fans involved. They got an opportunity to go on the show set and even got invited to do a book tour after co-authoring a book about Mad Men.
When Roberta started her journey, she didn't have any fancy plans. She just had a strong why; she knew what she wanted to discuss and create. It all began when she would watch an episode, call her sister and then re-watch the VHS of the same episode and call her sister, and the cycle continued.
She revealed that they don't make significant revenue from the podcast, but they enjoy the process and all opportunities it comes along with.
She has shared so much wisdom from her journey. We discuss how to structure a podcast episode carefully, and she is very particular about it. We talk about engagement strategies to grow your audience. We discuss whether Patreon is extra stress on your podcast and how passion is a content creator's superpower.
There are so many stories and ideas in this episode, I am sure you will love it.

Mentoring Through Podcasts: How To Teach Technology To The Next Generation - Jamie Taylor

No other medium is as easy to use for content creation or as a teaching and learning tool as podcasts, and this is something that our today's guest has experienced.
Welcome to the new episode of The Kult Creator Experience. In this episode, we are joined by dad,  mentor, programmer, podcaster, business owner, and content creator, Jamie Taylor.
Jamie is passionate about teaching, mentoring industry newcomers, and creating Eureka moments. With the goal of sharing his knowledge, he started his blog in 2016. However, writing blog posts with 3000 words and source code was not an effortless task for Jamie.
On the recommendation of a friend, he started podcasts by initially repurposing all of his blog posts into podcasts. Today, his podcast, The .Net Core podcast, has achieved over 400,000 downloads, with industry peers asking to be part of it, including those from Microsoft.
Today, he'll discuss the importance of having a clear purpose for podcasts and how to create a welcoming environment for newcomers and those who might not feel comfortable speaking up. How To Produce An Audio Drama Podcast And Fulfil A Creative Dream - Melissa Del Toro Schaffner

In today's episode, our guest is Melissa Del Toro Schaffner. She is an American Voice Actor and co-creator/producer/narrator of The Untold Tales Podcast - a short story sci-fi audio drama.
As a child, Melissa enjoyed making different voices, but she chose electrical engineering as a career. When her daughter was born, she refused to go back to her job as she didn't want to miss any key moments of her daughter's life. After taking a leap of faith, she started her voice acting business. She began doing audiobooks and turn, met a fantastic author, and together they collaborated to create an audio drama podcast -"The Untold Tales", a sci-fi short story podcast
In this episode, she shared how she uses her podcast to share her talent as a voice actor and other creative storytellers' stories. Podcasting has given her a space to show her creativity and not bound by any agency or person to dictate what she should instead be doing.

She puts so much effort into her podcast by choosing a great story, hiring a coach to help her play characters' accents, and selecting songs that go well with the story. With podcasting, she planned for the long game, giving herself at least a year to build an audience and a back catalogue of binge-listening. She is now on in season 3 of her podcast.
Tune into this episode and listen to Melissa's content creation journey story.

    KEY INSIGHTS
If you aren't enjoying the content creation process. Please don't do it. Don't feel like you have to be married to anything with content.A good leader helps build some level of consensus that works for everyone, which is extremely difficult and rarely happens. A good leader lets other people lead, contribute, and make decisions that are right for them.We see so much cynicism in people and kids just looking around for the example they have to become because nobody's stepping up, which is ridiculous. Why should our kids be the ones that do it? It's our responsibility.

How To Create A #1 Charting Academic Podcast - Mikko Heiskala

How To Create A #1 Charting Academic Podcast - Mikko Heiskala

You may not know that podcast is not only a great marketing tool, but it can also play a significant role in academic learning. As our guest on this episode, Mikko Heiskala, a PhD student and university lecturer from Finland, has proved this.

Mikko's initial idea was to build it as a learning tool for his students. But while sharing his podcast learning experiences with his wife Nina, she suggested that since there weren’t any evidence-based psychology podcasts, they should start one together. This saw the launch of their show Psykopodiaa.
It now has 1.2 million streams and averages 13,000 downloads per episode; just to give that some context, there are 5.5 million people in Finland, and this is a Finnish spoken language podcast. In addition to number metrics, their podcast is recommended by university lecturers to students, and doctors also suggest listening to it for their patents. They have gained deep professional trust through their podcast, which has led to a number of speaking opportunities.
In this episode, he discusses how focusing on the subject matter, adjusting the podcast duration to the listener, and respecting knowledge helped him succeed in the content creation journey. Tune into the episode to find out Mikko's success secret.
Listen to this episode on your favourite podcasting platform, and if you enjoy it, give us a review on Podchaser; please click https://www.podchaser.com/TheKultCreatorExperience.  It can really help others discover the Podcast.

Here are some quick highlights from this episode:[01:09]-Short intro of our guest Mikko Heiskala[03:09]-Mikko’s journey of starting a podcast [06:45] -How to find an audience for your podcast and what topics to cover[8:28]-Finding podcast guests consistently when you just started[09:16]-The reason Mikko's focused on question-answer podcasts[10:27]-How long your podcast episode should be?[12:31]-Mikko’s determinant of success for his podcast[14:39]- A look into Mikko’s pre-production process[20:38]- A discussion about the content editing process[26:47]- Is it possible to grow a podcast without a large social media following?[30:14] -The opportunity Mikko and his wife benefited from podcasting[39:32]- Mikko's advice for new content creators[41:16]- What is Mikko's definition of a good leader?

KEY INSIGHTSThe best advice for new content creators is to get started, especially with content that you're personally interested in. A good leader serves the people he or she leads. Give them goals, provide them with tools and resources to accomplish them, and get out of their way. They should be supported and pushed, not micromanaged. A great leader ensures that the environment they are working in is psychologically safe and everybody can make mistakes.

GUEST BIO Mikko Heiskala is a PhD student and university lecturer from Finland. Mikko's original idea was to use podcasting as a learning tool for his students, and he went on to do a short course in podcast production. At this point, his wife, a psychologist, suggested why don't we create a podcast about psychology.

She found that the current psychology content out there wasn't great. And it didn't discuss evidence-based knowledge. So on April fool's day, 2019, Psykopodiaa was launched. It was very successful, had 1.2 million streams, and averaged 13,000 downloads per episode. Now, just to give that some context, there are 5.5 million people in Finland, and this is a Finnish spoken language podcast

    KEY INSIGHTS

A great leader is willing to let others do what they're good at. Good leader surrounds themselves with people who compliment what their strengths are, and they can admit they can't do that thing. We talk about why behind starting your podcast, but I want you to think about how much time you have. Do you love this topic enough that even on your worst day, you can still talk about it and love it? I believe audio has an extraordinary power that is often overlooked. I think video is great, but the audio has a special magic. If you think that only downloads equal success, you can't apply that to podcasting because it's an...
